Horse Girl Meets Leather Lesbian
2026
duration 20min performance for inside and outside spaces
A collaboration with Henna Nerg

Horse Girl Meets Leather Lesbian is performance where we (me and Henna Nerg) enhanced parts of ourselves that were already there, activating the sculptures in our exhibition ”It’s All Fun and Games Until…” in Asbestos Art Space. The performance revolves around live-sculpting, everyday-drag, nostalgia and the pain of failure, but also care and consensual dominance, rearranging roles and materials and breaking something to give way to something else.

Metal Slumber
2026
live metal casting performance for outside spaces
A collaboration with Henna Nerg

In Metal Slumber artists Häkkinen & Nerg melt and cast metal (usually aluminium) in a public space with self-made equipment. The performance makes visible the process of metal cast sculptures – a process that is not often seen by the wider audience. The performance starts from melting the metal, to casting, and to finally opening the sand molds, so that the audience can also see what was created. The idea is to bring the private artistic practice into the public space – a park or a city square for example. Metal cast sculptures are quite a common sight in cities, but the process of making them is almost never seen live. The aim of Metal Slumber is to demystify artistic practice and bring it out of the studio.

The Life and Death
2023–
duration 30–75min, for inside spaces
A collaboration with my artistic partner Miradonna Sirkka

The Life and Death is an ongoing work that evolves every time it is performed – its nature is to be relevant to what is happening in the world right now. The work combines elements of performance art, DJ & VJ gigs, and growing up as a teenager in the 00s with hetero-mono-normativity and capitalist perfectionism critique. It is a shared moment full of weirdness, fun, horror, play, love and tears – carnivalising the aesthetics of coolness associated with club culture. In The Life and Death the everyday becomes surreal and humor and vulnerability coexist.
We poured everything from our nasty little souls into The Life and Death: all the frustration, joy, sex, humour, broken hearts and all the other disgusting shit in between: the everyday hypersexualisation of afab bodies; pop & kitsch and the pure joy and pleasure of making art – although I think we perform and make art to console ourselves as we are dying, on our way to death.

Tempus Fuckit (A Collector’s Item)
2024
11:40 min video-performance
three channel HD-video, 16:9 with stereo sound
A collaboration with my artistic partner Miradonna Sirkka

Tempus Fuckit (A Collector’s Item) is a performance, a video and sculpture installation. In the video, the artists are seen making plaster casts with pee in public urban spaces. The sculptures are exhibited with the video together in a gallery space. The idea of neutral plaster casts of smooth objects is destroyed, as the liquid used to harden the plaster comes straight from the body. Among the questions we raise in the work is the dominance of the male body in the public space – his relates to the art world, too. What is good taste? Where do we draw the line between the taboo and the exciting but harmless? Who decides, and why? Who is allowed to do it, and where?

Tramp Stamp Fluxus
2024
one-off performance, ink on skin

Tramp Stamp Fluxus was an attempt to create a ”hole” in reality, by making something lose all meaning. A tattoo is often thought to be something so unique and personal, and one of a kind. In this work I asked the same person who gave me the first tattoo to do it again, right next to the original one.

KIRI KIRI
2024
45 min
Collaboration with Aleksi Kinnunen, Janne Masalin, Miradonna Sirkka

”Duration of the show 60 min, human concentration 8 sec.”
KIRI KIRI was commissioned for SLURPS in 2024. The work is inspired by routines, repetitive everyday actions and thoughts, the adjustment of schedules, and the experiences of awakening and disruption that rhythmically accompany these moments. Will the loops of routines be made to work together on stage or is total destruction in store? What are we trying to control by creating strict frameworks for ourselves to organize our daily lives? If you stretch a routine far enough, at what point does it break down and reveal something underneath?
KIRI KIRI was performed in Kajaani, Joutsa, Kuopio and Pori in the summer of 2024.

Snägäri (A Nocturnal Snack Bar)
2023–
durational interactive performance for indoor an doutdoor spaces
Recover Laboratory production, crew varies

Snägäri was commissioned for the New Performance Turku Biennale in 2023, premiering in the autumn in the caves under the Turku waste water treatment plant. Snägäri is a promenade performance that mixed together performance art and sculpture, a journey where the audience is led to a surreal snack bar where…. things happen……

Sic transit gloria Sofi
2022
10:01 min
two channel video performance
HD-video, 16:9, no sound
The work is filmed by Iida-Liina Linnea

Sic transit gloria Sofi is an 8-hour long performance captured on video. In the performance I disguise myself as an artwork using the same materials I use in many of my sculptures: hot glue and dry pasta. The work blends classic Vanitas symbolism with pop and nostalgia, with time as a key element in its many forms.
